Who is responsible for your information
This website is run by Tim Fairs, trading as Tim Fairs Retail Strategy Consultancy, based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Tim Fairs is the data controller for the personal information described here.
If you have any questions, email t.fairs@sky.com or call 07834 598914.
What information is collected
- When you book a call. Bookings are made through Calendly. You give your name, email address and any details you choose to add about your business.
- When you email or phone. Your contact details and whatever you tell me.
- When you become a client. The information needed to deliver the work and invoice for it.
- When you visit this website. The company that hosts the site keeps standard technical logs, such as your IP address and browser type, for security.
How it is used
- To arrange and hold the call you booked.
- To reply to your enquiry and send information you asked for.
- To provide consultancy services and keep business records.
The legal basis is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, to perform a contract with you, or for my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the business. Your details are not sold, and you will not be added to a marketing list without your agreement.
Cookies and other services
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. It does use a small number of services from other companies:
- Calendly provides the booking calendar. It may set cookies when the calendar loads and shows its own cookie notice. See Calendly's privacy notice for details.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Your browser requests them from Google, which involves sharing your IP address.
- Cloudflare hosts the website.
Some of these companies may process information outside the UK, with appropriate safeguards in place.
How long it is kept
Enquiry and booking details are kept for up to two years after our last contact. Client and financial records are kept for as long as the law requires, which is usually six years.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information held about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, or have it transferred to you. To do any of these, use the contact details above.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
